I FINALLY got to the rock, but i couldn't heft myself up onto it. 

The current is pretty stong. It is similar to a swimming treadmill. I swam and swam with all my strength and when I looked up I was parallel to the same stinking log. 

One crazy lady in the Rio Cangrejal. You can see a bit of the jungle in the background.
